The back story of Swedish House Mafia

Swedish House Mafia is a Swedish electronic dance music. They consist of three members Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingresso. The group joined together in 2008 and have been going strong ever since. They are classified as one of the best Dj’s to ever come out of Swedin, well in my opinion anyways. There first ever release in 2007 was called ‘Get Dumb’ which was produced by Laidback Luke. In 2009 they released another song called Leave the World Behind You with Laidback Luke and Deborah Cox. In 2010 Swedish House Mafia signed a record deal with UMG’S Polygram Records. With this it brought out some of the most famous and well known music by SHM including the songs “One (Your Name)”, “Save the World”, “Greyhound” and their most recent “Don’t You Worry Child”. Official Site.

On 7th July 2012 Swedish House Mafia played a concert in the Phenoix Park, that I went to. Even though there was quite alot of trouble on the day of it. Officials can’t blame the music, its what the people are doing or taking in order for the troubles to start. This concert was a sold out gig. Swedish House Mafia played at the every end the night. The whole day was amazing, the atmosphere was unreal and the music was legendary. I Loved Every Minute of it!.

If anyone wants to have a listen at any of SHM songs go to the Swedish House Mafia site.

On the 24th June 2012, Swedish House Mafia published a statement that it was their fianl leg of there tour and that they were splitting up. On September 24, 2012, Swedish House Mafia announced the dates for their farewell tour named “One Last Tour.” The tour will kick off in November 2012 and conclude in March 2013. More dates have been added because of a high demand and love for the trio.

Annie Leibovitz is a very interesting woman. She makes her fantasy photography come to life. I like the way she captures the scenes in Disney films and the way she uses celebrities to convey this. Not only is she an American photographer, but also in my eyes, she is one of the best female photographers in the world. I love the way she uses dark colours to convey a story. Although her celebrity photographs made her famous, in my opinion I think her personal work is just as good. It captures both emotions and uniqueness in the pictures. Her photography shows her creativity and imagination, just like all the Disney film have. I like the quote by Annie when she says “The best photography is what is around you, you become part of it”. This quote touched me in the way I think about things, you just have to look around and you could see a million of shots that good be nice right under your nose. Annie Leibovitz is an inspiration to lots of people and I enjoy looking at her work of art.

Here is an interesting interview with Annie Leibovitz that gives you an insight into a photographers life and her thoughts.

Situated by a harbour at the foot of the Taurus mountains, Kalkan is a resort for those seeking a little more than sun, sea and sand. It is a sophisticated historic town with some fine examples of Greek architecture. As well as water sports, diving and boat trips, there are over 200 restaurants and shops offering the highest in quality. You can dine at a restaurant with a roof terrace that affords a picturesque view of the harbour, or shop for antiques, oriental carpets, jewellery or furnishings. If you are feeling like having a swim, Kaputas beach and French Bay are both within easy reach of Kalkan.

There is tones to do in this beautiful city in Turkey. I was there in September 2012 for my aunty’s wedding. The people are so friendly and the atmosphere is amazing. Since we went in late September it was kind of quite. The Turkish sunsets are the nicest sunsets you will ever see.

When in Turkey, you must go on trips like a boat trip, they bring you around the bay where you can go swimming, go to mud baths, that u cover yourself in mud, then lay out in the sun and all the minerals from the mud makes your skin smooth. You then have lunch on the sea, and do more interesting trips to places were you wouldnt be able to see on foot. There is also a Jeep Safari trip that you can go on, it brings you through the countryside of turkey and you get to go visit old ruins, a gorge, then you get in a raft and paddle your way down stream seeing the landscape for yourself.

I recommend going to Kalkan its a beautiful city and has lots things to do for all ages. Kalkan by night is exciting.  The town center transforms at dusk as it begins to bustle with activity – there is much to do: shopping, dining, cafés, excellent bars, or just going for a stroll along the twisting active streets or by the peaceful harbour.

Shopping – There are plenty of shops in Kalkan, all of which open early in the day and stay open until at least midnight. Kalkan shopping is completely hassle-free. An evening spent strolling about the winding streets and alleys while window shopping can be very rewarding as there are so many things to see and buy in the many specialty shops. You can get whatever you like Lamps, Carpets, Alcohol, Turkish Delight, Clothes etc all at affordable prices. Every Thursday there is a market in the town were you can go and get brand named clothes, bags, perfume, jewellery whatever your looking for they probably have. All you have to do is haggle with them and you can get something for a good price.

Dining and Drinks – Kalkan is said to have the highest number of restaurants and bars on the Turkish coast. Almost every hotel has its own roof-top or terrace bar serving all kinds of international drinks and cocktails.  Kalkan is also renowned for its roof-top restaurants which offer a wonderful view of the town, sea and stars.

Kalkan Harbour is beautiful during the day but its spectacular at night, all you see is the lights off the restaurants and bars shining off the water and boats. The water is freezing when you get into it but its refreshing. I really enjoyed Kalkan and i hope to go back with my family again for my auntys wedding anniversairy. The scenery is breath taking.

About Me

My name is Andrew James Deane. I am 22 years old and I am living in Carpenterstown, Dublin 15 with my parents. I love Music, genres like Hip/hop, Rap, Electronic Dance etc. I am passionate about photography and i love fashion. I have already completed an Ordinary Degree in Film and Media in Dublin Business School. I am very passionate about film and editing films. Before I came to Griffith College, i was doing a Higher Level Degree in Film Studies at DBS. But i found out that the course had changed, it used to involve making four films in the year, but now they got rid of that and you make none its all theory. Theory maybe good but the type of person I am is that I need practical work in order to get my experience in that field. I picked to do photography at Griffith College, because i always loved taking pictures of things. Doing this course will not only give me good experience but will put me in a good path of a job in the futher. With both photography and film, I hope to get a good job out of a combination of both careers. In my spare time, i enjoy going out with my friends, pub, cinema, shopping etc…
